Would it be a good idea to put a 20 or 30 amp fuse on the line coming from the starter to the ammeter for some electrical protection?? If so, what amperage? Thanks. | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | No. The amps are too high for a fuse in that circuit. You coud put a fuseable link where it hooks to the starter. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | Joined: May 2011 Posts: 48 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2011 Posts: 48 | Thanks wrenchbender. Wire from starter to amp meter appears to be 10 ga., so apparently a 14 ga. fuseable link would be required. I'm wondering what the best way is to protect against a possible electrical fire since the only fuse is at the headlamp switch. | | |
