One bolts on and uses a control valve that replaces the drag link and a ram that bolts on to the tie rod. It is similar to the factory system and uses the stock steering gear. I had one and didn't care for it. Another system uses a 70/80's Saganaw gear box. Be carefull not to get too fast of a ratio box. It will require modification to the steering column. Some replace the entire column with something newer. I used the Toyota kit. I installed it over 10 years ago and it works great. They are getting a little scarce and pricy as well. It will also require modification to the column.
