Hello!

Looking at adding a '57 3100 to the collection. It's got a 400 small block and a turbo 400 at the moment.

I do NOT like automatics, and would want to switch it back to standard if I did end up buying it.

Unfortunately, the previous owner removed the clutch pedal and all the linkage, so I would have to find all the missing bits.

I have a few people who say that they have the linkage, but it's from a '55 truck, not a '57.

Is the clutch linkage the same for 1/2 ton trucks from '55 - 59'? If not, what years are the same?

the bellhouse and column shift linkage is slightly different on the 55 2nd's, but the pedal and it's linkage should match if the frame wasn't butchered installing the 400 .... the clutch pedal/linkage would be a minor part, with the automatic they likely removed the rear [bellhousing mount] crossmember at least, and used an aftermarket trans crossmember, likely welded in

My main concern is the pedal and associated linkage. I looked at the guy's message to me, and the donor truck is actually a '59, not a '55, and the new tranny will be a Borg Warner T-10 rather than a stock 3 or 4 speed, so I won't be using the column shift.

The truck has the original straight front axle and leaf springs, and it doesn't look like the frame was touched at all, with the exception of an aftermarket crossmember for the motor mounts.

I'd expect the cross member to have been changed, so I expect to have to change that as well.

yeah the clutch stuff will work then, assuming they didn't put the front mount slightly forward for clearance issues
