The heater has not worked since I got it (nothing from the motor) can I hook it up to the battery to test it (without regulator and switch) or will that kill it.
Just wondering?

So I'll be watching the Forum for the advice that will surely follow...

Now the lowest setting on my switch sounds like what my highest setting use to be like when it was 6v. If I switch to high now called "GO-BABY-GO" (from Gone in 60 seconds), I'm afraid I'm going to burn out the motor. I might try another resistor.

It was a universal 12volt and had the two lugs on front to mount like orig did, same size shaft too. Think I had to oval mount holes some, used old fan blade after finally getting out the old set-screw and it can be hooked up to turn either way, depending on what wire power goes to. Might want to check your heater box for mouse nestings, Most old trucks I've dragged home have 10lbs of mouse nest in them and stink like Pee real bad. Even wasps make mud nests in them and freeze everything up. A little oil on shaft bearings, spin it to free up and away you go! I've used 12 volt on 6 motor to get it started after it wouldn't move on 6. Once it "broke in" on 12, it worked again on 6.
