All the original electrical is still in the truck , I was going to try to hook the origial generator wire up to the alternator to see if i get power to the fuse panel, I have a wire hooked up from the key to start it but I have no power to the cab ,like lights or heater. any suggestions? | | |
#87213 05/23/2005 3:21 AM | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | welcome to the garage milk  the 80 harness is scrap - you hafta hook things up to suit the 58 - to change from a generator yu hafta run some different wires, and hook some of the regulator wires together - depends on if the alternator is internally or externally regulated, but I don't have the details handy - power for the accessories comes from a wire that goes from the batt terminal on the regulator to the ign sw to the fuse panel - you need a wiring diagram, which K Hardy has nicely posted here Bill | | |
