Does anyone know how long a 1963 truck bed is? I also need to know how far from the front of the bed the middle of the wheels are. I am planning on building my 1963 c60 into a real big truck so I am trying to figure out how much frame I need to take out. Thanks

Thanks! that gave me the bed length, but i still did not see how far the frame extends from the back of the cab, or where the wheel is?

isn't there a wheelbase spec in there? isn't there enough dimensions given for the various models that a little math can sort it out? have you thought how a bed designed for a drop center frame, will fit on a straight channel frame? do you have a bed to use or are you planning to cut up the frame and hope the bed you find later will fit?

Yes I have done the math and figured out my bed length and everything, but no where could I find how far back the wheels are mounted. I think the wheel center should be exactly halfway back the bed but would like somebody to confirm that. Thanks

Are you putting a pickup bed on your bigbolt? If so how long is the bed (6-1/2', 8' or 9')?

I wouldn't cut anything before I had the bed in hand. If you have the bed, it's just a mater of dry fitting the bed on top of your frame until it looks centered over your axle and tires. Then mark it up and start cutting.

it is an 8' bed.I will dry fit it but any idea how much bed should hang over the end of the frame?

Stand the bed up and measure it...I think it's about 48".

Assuming it is the dimenbsionb you want is called the CA (cab-to-axle) and for various bodies is can be different but an 8' body (or bed as you refer to it) is probably a dump body. That uses a 60" CA. That is the shortest CA that was available and still is for a Ford or Ram 350-5500. If it is for a platform body it maybe 9'-10' long. Just depends on the particular application. In 63' a 72", 84", 102", 114" and 120" were also available and probably 138" and maybe even 150". So tell us what the body is and I can steer you correctly.

Long WB pickup bodies are made for a 56"CA.

I re-read his question and still didn't see anything about a P/U body.

did you read his responses above and other post that I linked? seems clear enough he's trying to turn a 1.5T into a "big" pickup
