A generous friend gave me tonight this original 1949 California Bill Chevy Speed manual that he purchased new in the 1950s. I can hardly wait to browse the contents...awesome!

Congraduations! Don't browse it, read it. Everything in that
book is still viable today........

I've got the reprint, and love it! Having the real-deal is even cooler.

Where can you get a re-print from? I'd like one.

I also bought a reprint years ago from Amazon, or some other internet vendor. I also have the book by Roger Huntington (?). Really I forget the author and title as they have been packed away for a few years.
Both books are good reads!!

most things are still viable, you just gotta use a little judgement. For example, back then they warned against using new lifters with a new performance cam. giving several reasons why used "worn in" lifters were better. nonetheless, these are great books.
