Morgan_Horn New Guy M Joined: May 2012 Posts: 12 Saskatchewan CANADA	Hi, have a 58 GMC 1 ton dually, have vac operated winshield wipers, they won't go through their full cycle, they will only go so far and the only way to get them to return to start is to turn them off. Any tips?

Googling windshield vacuum motor i found some other sites that most suggest doing the same thing as the link above. As an add on question does anybody know the amount of vacuum needed to operate the motor?

I found a few posts showing how to rebuild, including this one by Denny. https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthread...Main=122331&Number=832261#Post832261 And a link to his photos here: http://www.pbase.com/dennygraham/spare_tyco_vacuum_motor&page=all Of course I didn't refab all the parts that Denny does so wonderfully, but I just cleaned the paddle, relubed it. And put it back together using a thin layer of gasket maker between the 2 halves. Can't hurt to try.
