Hello World!

Well that's the first thing we do in my business anyway. We learn to tell the world hello using the new programming code. Since all the code i'm about to digest is new i thought i'd start with a hello world script! wink (don't worry %90 of other folks didn't know what that means either.

So I found this beauty in the rough on Craigslist. When I contacted the seller I fell in love with it over the phone. When it came down to it it was between this and a 52 F-100 almost finished but without a running motor. I really wanted something that needed a bit more work than just putting it all back together. The time i'll spend with grandpa will be priceless.

My experience consists of replacing a u joint on a 86 Chevy 1500, a alternator on a 88 bronco II and the oil in the old 00 Ranger. It'll be a long road.

So for $2,000 I got the following. A 1947 Chevy Truck 3/4 ton. Running 6v 235 (seller swore it was a 261), original wiring, unknown clusters, leaky rear wheel cylinder (un verified), very little rust (for the age i'm told).

Oh yea, and the cluster is signed??

So with that i'll change the points, plugs, wires and cap this week. Grandpa said it was missing a little. After this we'll get an idea if the engine will be good enough or not.

Well here i am 10 days later with little to report. Every step forward seems like 3 steps back.

The latest is the wheel cylinder. Ordered two new 1 3/8 replacements to discover the bolt pattern is different. What a let down.
