Hello, does anyone have the installation instructions for the Wiring Harness Cotton Braided 1940-1946 Chevrolet from jim carter? I bought my 46 chevy truck with this harness and I upgraded to a 12 volt system with new ignition switch and light switch and I having trouble with hiring up the light switch. For example my brake lights only work when the headlights are on. And there are some wires labeled 4 and another labeled 8 on the light switch that I can not trace back to anything.

Did you just get this harness From Carters? If so call em up and talk to Julie she should help you. If you got it some time back (cause i think they were now only selling what they had left in stock)Ask her what company they they got them from. If they wont help send me a message and I'll try and walk you though what I can with the shop manuel.

I bought my truck 6 months ago, I recongnize the wiring harness as being the one sold by jim carter. I am trying to find out what the labeled number on each wire and where it goes, ignition switch, light switch, etc.

you might be able to email them and get them to email you a copy of the list, biut you could also see afactory wiring diagram - shouldn't be too hard to figure out, once you lay a factory harness in place the wires only reach exactly where they're supposed to go and the diagrams list the colors
