This does not seem right, I want them to turn on no matter if the headlights are on or off and even if the motor is off. Can you tell me how the wiring needs to be setup to accmplish this? I have a 46 chevy truck with a cotton braided wiring harness. I just installed a new headlight swtich with fuse from a 47 to 53 Truck and I am sure it is not wired right.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 171 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 171 | On the brake light switch-which is mounted to the engine side of the firewall, inline with the brake pedal-there should be 2 wires coming out the top. One will be going to the brake lights and the other could go to the back of the light switch, this is where the light switch gets power. or you could route it to the ammeter so you know it is getting power all of the time.

I agree with thee previous posts that the wire to the switch is probably on the wrong term of the light switch.
