I check the voltage at the generator and there is no voltage there, is this a sign of stuck or bad brushes? The generator was working fine until I adjusted the belt that was squelling. I still have about 3/4 inch of slack in the belt, and it still squells when I rev it up.
I checked the voltage at voltage regulator and I see the battery voltage and nothing else.

if it worked before, should be working now..
try a new belt and tighten it up, that seems like a lot of slack but I always adjust them to my feel, some slack but not bone tight

might also be gen squeaking but that would be easy test by taking belt off and listening

What is the chances that the air gap in voltage regulator needs adjustment?
I check the gap and they seem off, I did check the output of the generator again and it seems to increase in voltage after a minutes.
I did remove the leads and cleaned them.
Should I see movement in the amp guage?
What is the proper way to adjust the gap?
