on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 69 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 69 | I recently aquired a'56 chevy 3100.(6 cylinder) The engine is pretty much shot, as it was ran hot, cracking the head and the cylinders are .039 out of round..A friend of mine gave me a 235(6 cylinder) out of a '54 3100...The motor mounts are different. The '56 has side mounts right in the frontsides of the block and the '54 motor mounts in the front cross-member, in the timing case cover..will it be possible to mount this engine in my truck?..I'm thinking I can drill the front cross-member and make this work.....Oh...I am new to the forum...from Way down in southeast Alabama
