A lot of us prefer the ol' 6s. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 64 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 64 | the 235 I6 came out of a 54 project/parts truck I purchased. It was supposedly rebuilt with about 4000 miles on it. It runs really good and smooth so I couldn't see spending the money on another drive train and all the modification to install a V8. Glad I went with it. I've only seen maybe 1 out of 20 of this body style trucks (finished)with the I6 in the last couple years at ccar shows. I like that different look and it's more original. I did smooth out the cowl and hood and a few other small details but nothing major. Wasn't looking for bone stcck which you can tell by the color but wanted something mildly modified and unique. today is the 2nd time i've had it on the road and love to drive this truck. It's not as easy driving as some but it's a 1952!!!!!
I thought about having it appraised and have no idea on what it's worth. I've seen them from one end of the spectrum to the other. Insurance company is telling me one thing but they want that extra $$$$ I insured in mid teens but I guess a real appraisal company would know the market and value better than an insurance salesman....LOL | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 | | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 | That is smooth fire wall. Did you cut and fill or replace it as a unit? And I can't ever recall seeing chromed manifold clamps. Very cool dress up.

This was welded just below the column support and to the top of the toe board. Then a skim coat and sanded her flat. Those clamps were in my parts truck under the seat from a plating company from out in California. I had to use them. Thanks for the compliment. | | |
