really odd, the ID plate says 353 ie: 350 series Wheelbase #3 or 137", the truck measures a 106" wb and the rear spring mounts are rivited to the frame. wonder who shortened it ?

An FC 353 would be a 1948 model at 161" WB. As short as it is, it isn't really useful for anything but pulling mobile homes and it would be a moving roadblock by today's standards. Someone may have cut about 5 feet out of the frame and spliced it back together. Or someone may have used hot rivets. I still have a .498 shank rivet gun that will buck pretty large hot rivets. That thing has been around almost 65 years. No telling who modified it.

in other words.... It's Perfect!
easy to park ( dont take up a lot of space in the drive) is heavy duty and well used. I can't wait to Fire it up and make it my winter truck.

I have been wanting a big bolt for going on 15 years, and this one is So "me"

Picture her with the moss and hanging paint removed, patina intact, Chained up and chugging through about 12-18 inches of Snow, pulling all the hapless imports out of the Ditch on the way to work. this is Going to be Fun.
