Guys,I'm ready to put some color on all my seat frames(1951 suburban). I checked with my paint supplier that carries DuPont paints about mixing some wicker brown.The paint code is DUP code 93-55045 and his computer did not show a formula for it.He called Dupont and they said it no longer existed.Do any of you guys have the formula for wicker brown ?

He told me they could do a color match off of an original trim piece.My problem is I don't think I have a trim panel with good enough paint on it.

Any help will be appreciated.

I was able to get all my 54 interior colors.

They told me the PPG numbers are no good as well as the Dupont numbers,No more formula . I haven't actually talked to a ppg paint dealer,just going by what the store said.How long ago did you purchase the paint ?

I did not get anywhere with a very good local PPG dealer. I call PPG's Historical Colors Library (phone number(s) are in the Tech Tip). Other members have used that phone number within the last two years.

I took my interior door garnish trim to my paint supplier.He did a color match by eye,looks really close to the seats I have seen in some burbs.I think I will be happy with it.I will have some pictures after I paint the seat frames.

I got the seats painted this last weekend.Every time I take a picture,they look a different color.I'm happy with the color,will be painting the garnish trims soon and store them.

Wow! That turned out great!!

Same here. I took a piece of seat trim, buffed it up and had my shop do a paint match.
