stupid question

My 2 ton has no shocks, has anybody tried to put some on them? Sorry to ask the dumb question.

I've never seen shocks on the 1 1/2-2 ton trucks, but the 2 1/2 ton army trucks did have very large lever action shocks.

As Jeff posted, it looks like no shocks were standard equipment, but special equipment shocks were available?

The 2 ton springs are so stiff you'll probably never flex them enough to get the lever action shocks to move. Not worth it unless you really load the truck up, or remove some of the leafs. Just my opinion anyway, I had the same idea when I got my 1.5 ton, but after driving it I decided not to bother.

My '46 two ton has lever action shocks on the front. I tried to take some pictures, but it was too dark under the shed, and they came out blurry. If you want to see some, I'll try to get some better ones.
They look like larger versions of the ones on the '47 half ton I've got. Probably be real problematic to find parts for...
