No response on my previous shot at this, so here's one at a time:

Attempting to determine why my temp gauge suddenly went offline. It just stopped reading. Period. Grounded the sender wire with power on at the ignition switch and no movement. BUT. I just replaced my wiring harness. Note: The gauge went offline about a week before I replaced the harness.

In checking the sending unit (cold and hot), how many ohms should I read?

Are there other tests I can use to confirm either the sending unit or the gauge?

All wires hooked up as per the manual (Ground to one terminal, IGN to the other, and switching them had no effect).

Thanks in advance,

Jim

with no movement on the gauge I'd say the gauge died, it should 'twitch' up to the end of the scale as soon as you turn on the key .... the best way to check the sender is to take a cold reading, put it in a pan of water to heat and watch it change .... if it's reading some resistance and it changes, it should make the gauge move, providing you've checked the wires for continuity
