For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 64 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 64 | Hello All,
I'm just finishing up a 1952 3100 restoration and found this site while looking for parts. I bought my truck about 4 years ago from a buddy. His father inlaw owned it and passed away. This was one of my dads good buds and i previously had tried to buy it before he passed. I kept it mostly original other than a 235 I6. I used all stainless hardware and painted it chrome yellow. Tons of detail. A little bit of a perfectionist. It turned out beutiful and will post some pics once I learn how. I did do some mods to the body such as shave the hood seam, shave the drip rails and cowl. I'm hoping to have it wet sanded and polished by the end of this weekend. New glass, weather strippping, fuel system, brake system complete new bed. Frame was stripped and painted ect...ect ... Literally a complete nut and bolt restoration but not all factory correct. I've learned a ton on this truck and have done all the work myself with some help of some fellow beer drinkers. I've done a few restoration but nothing from the 50's this was fun and simple.I'm a GTO guy but love this body style of truck and finally can say I did one.
