Some people I've talked to about my engine issue think that one of my valves may b=have gotten stuck and the piston hit it, bending it. Sound likely? I assumed they were non interference but maybe I'm wrong.
PS, doing a compression test tomorrow or the next day, should give me some more clues.

Once freed up they were fine. I think the valves are to far up in the chamber to be of very much riskl of a piston hitting them.

I don't know if one stuck open will strike a piston or not. Now I curious. Anyone know?

The only valves that get remotely close to the piston also overhangs the block. It would hit the top of the block before it could reach the piston. Jerry

If the valve sticks in the guide, since the valve is nearly vertical the piston may just push it back. If not, the valve bends or punctures the piston dome.

I floated an intake valve (over-revving the motor) and can confirm it WILL hit the piston, resulting in much carnage. | | |
