I have a LWB 55 series ll pick up with a 235ci I6.
In my father's garage we have a 327 out of a 67 pick up.
I was wondering if this would fit in my 55 and if anybody knows whether it will bolt up to the original four speed in my 55?
The four speed is original with the ultra low first gear. It was rebuilt last year and it would be a shame to have to exchange it for the 67 automatic.
Would my I6 bellhaousing,flywheel and 11"clutch work on the 327?

Transmission will work if a 55-57 v-8 truck bellhousing is used.
Flywheel will not work but clutch/pressure plate will.

Hy sepp, I would add that you will have to purchase a front engine mount kit from one of the vendors, hope that helps.

My 1964 parts book indicates the bellhousing is the same 55-59 pickup through 1 1/2 ton.cast 3776887.
55-57 passenger also had mounts on the bell housing so they could be adapted easily.

The inline 6, 235, bellhousing and the V8 bell housing are different for that erra. The 64 inline 6 did use the same bell housing as the V8.Larry

As others have stated your 235 bell will not fit a V8 but any 63 or later 194/230/250/292 bell will bolt-up to the V8. The truck bells described in the tech tip will mount to your crossmember same as the 235. The front/side engine mounts are different, but as others stated there are crossmembers/mount kits for that.
