| | | | Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 68 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 68 | So this seems really odd. When my 1953 3600 is idling the headlights and stop lights work great and are bright. But the Turn Signals won't blink unless I slightly increase the RPMs.
Can anyone think of what might be causing this odd situation??

I get the same response from the Turn Signals whether or not the headlights are on. I was thinking of trying a new flasher since this one is likely the original.

I did notice at the time that my friend's truck had quite a voltage drop on the supply to the blinker. In the end though the wrong set of filaments were connected to the rear blinkers. Now they even work when the truck is not running (previously this wasn't the case). And, the indicator bulb on the turn signal knob also started working again. So lesson learned: those Flashers can keep working but degrade in many other odd ways.
