The truck looks great, but the condition of the engine compartment doen't match the exterior. Was it a quick paint job to sell it? Did they fix the rust correctly or skim coat it and paint it?

Sort of an Earl Scheib "lipstick on a pig" job, maybe! Check to see if a refrigerator magnet will stick to the rocker panels, lower edges of the fenders and bedsides, etc. Thick Bondo will let a weak magnet fall right off.

If your familar with the 60-66 trucks they have their own rust issues, so double check the obvious areas. The paint job doesn't look like a cheap/quickie job. How long ago was it painted? A bad paint job will start showing signs of problems in about 30 days. If you look real close can you see any sand scratches or shrinkage? Now days a good paint job can cost more than the vehicle is worth! Drove her all the way from Brevard to Murphy NC, about 2 1/2 hours over mountains and on some interstate. Kept her 55 and under though just cuz I was nervous. She made it through like a champ. There are a couple of issues with her that the owner told me right up front. But all in all I'm thrilled and can't wait to jump in and start tinkering. I'll post my pics soon. I appreciated all of the advice. Checked the areas recommended and in the end felt like I made for the most part an informed decision.
