I used YNZ on my '38. Excellent quality & good support. If, after checking prices, you find originality isn't as important as you thought there are a number of good PVC coated harnesses available for less money.

An exception would be some kind of custom harness when installing an alternater and fuse panel. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 38 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 38 | For the most part the truck wiring is shot. A lot of bare wires and additional things added but now missing. I thought that the 12 volts would make the head lights and tail lights brighter. Are the brighter bulbs available in 6 volt?

Wayne Yes for tail/stop lights. Not sure about headlights.

If this is true then there must be later bulbs that are brighter. With 12 volts you would also have the option of using the custom halogen bulbs which are quite bright. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 420 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 420 | i just bought a cloth wiring harness from american classic truck parts for my 46 1/2 ton and it was easy to install, all the wires are color coded and numbered and on paper it tells you by number where each wire goes, took me about an hour to wire my whole truck

They make 6v halogen bulbs for most old car applications. I'd be really surprised if they didn't have 6v halogen sealed beams. It's worth a call anyway. 800-828-2061
