Is this going to cause an oil leak on the front through the crankshaft seal? If so now is the time to put one on. I don't think it had one on it before, because I kept all related parts on my bench ready to go back on after I got it back from machine shop. What do you guys think.Larry

There will be more oil against the back of the seal, but none of the small block V-8's ran a slinger, and the vast majority of them don't leak. The V-8 seal is almost identical to the one for the 6.
