Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 65 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 65 | Just completed rewiring 37 1/2 Ton.. Before conecting the wire to the sending unit when I turned on the ignition switch the guage went straight to full.... I understand this is correct..... I then thought that if I grounded out the wire which goes to the sender the guage would then go to empty? I ground out the wire on the negitive battery cable .... now the guage does not work | | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 775 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 775 | The gage has to go to ground through the float resistor at the tank. My truck had a fried gage. I think I have fixed it but don't know yet. Still in the restoration phase. If you take the gage out there is a very fine wire wound in a coil. Mine was burnt off. I simply took one wrap off the coil and resoldered it to the terminal. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 |
