Anyone used the aftermarket power brake systems that mount under the floor for a 1950 Chevy?

I'm helping build a 1/2 ton truck and trying to use one and the brake pedal and lever don't come close to lining up with the original hole.

When we called the maker we were told we would have to cut a new hole in the floor for the lever to go through, and that we would have to cut the pedal mount off, and reweld it in another position to make it work. And we would need another "patch panel" or "two piece cover" to seal it up. And of course it cost extra plus the shipping.

This set up was not cheap. Yet we're having to mess things up to "make" it fit.

What kit did you use?

I believe it is a CCP set up. I looked through the pictures on the link you gave and it looks like he was able to use the original hole for the pedal.

If it were moved inward (towards the drive shaft) about 3/4 inch then the lever would be right.

May have to make a spacer plate to go between the master cylinder bracket and the frame bracket.

Roy, like DADS mentioned I used a Master Power Brakes set-up,it bolted right up to the original pedals once I got the right one,but that's another story....

As you will see I had to modify my trans crossmember to fit due to a lack of foresight on my part.
I believe Alvin (Achipmunk) used a Pirate Jack kit,it looked very similar to mine and was actually cheaper.

I appreciate the replay. Like your we are using an automatic transmission.

Their answer was to cut another hole in the floor for the lever to fit, and to flip the part that the pedal screws into.

If we cut another hole for the lever to work, then it is directly under the steering column, and in my opinion too far from the accelerator pedal.

Just irritates me that this thing was so expensive and now having to cut things and reweld things on it to make it work.

Are there any close up pictures of how yours mounts to the frame and how the lever attaches?

I used the existing clutch arm cut down to use as a spacer to keep the brake arm in the correct location
