Should match the interior color. Has the inside the cab been repainted?

The seat frame was painted the/an interior color.

What model truck?

Did your truck have a two-tone interior?

There were at least 6 possibilities in 1954.

Thanks guys... after looking carefully at the old seat frame paint I am pretty sure that the entire truck was blue in and out.

When I got this truck it was a basket case completely apart with the hood stuffed through the windshield opening and the doors laying inside. It was entombed in old brown oxide primer. Under this was a blue paint, then yellow then a lighter primer color.

I had thought it was repainted since but looking more closely much of it was not. What really through me was the bright yellow but now I think that the LA production plant mus have used this as a primer under the blue paint.

Presumably, you have a pickup truck?

There was no GM regular production option for an all blue interior in 1954 pickup trucks.

There was a two-tone interior dark-blue and light blue interior option for pickup trucks as shown in this document.

Just about any color combination might have been special ordered.

Yep its a PU.

I was just looking at a posting by 54hydramaticFL in this forum for his 55.1 parts truck. Looking at his, mine was probably the same color blue.

What happened when I got mine is I built a dolly for the cab and took it almost right away to the local guy that media blasts cars and had most of the body parts blasted. So now I am just trying to figure out what color it may have been.

Not that it matters since it was too far gone to do a real proper restoration. But being a sucker for old trucks I had to save it anyway. But thats another story...

The light blue exterior color in 1954 was Transport Blue and the dark blue exterior color in 1954 was Mariner Blue.

You will see those listed on page 2 of the document at the link I gave above and in this Tech Tip.

The two, blue-interior colors are different color codes from either of the above exterior blues. These different interior blue code numbers might be different shades of blue or they might simply be different mixtures, including flattening compound (used with most interior colors). Maybe Greg_H will post something about the blue/blue interior color combination (that he has in his truck)?

This is 54hydramaticFL's truck. It has a dark blue exterior and a lighter blue interior.

Can you post a link to 54hydramaticFL's parts truck?

Thanks,

I had the interior colors of my truck scanned and have paint formulas somewhere around. Here are pics of my interior. It is the original two tone blue deluxe cab option. Hope it helps you out. two tone blue

It looks like everything (inside and out, including the frame) was re-sprayed a dark blue (maybe Mariner Blue)?

Maybe Keith (55hydranaricFL) will comment?
