Hello, has anyone used the lowering u-bolt kit from chevsofthe40s on a 46 1/2 ton truck? See link below

the u bolts are for the front suspension, they are square, the rear u bolts are round I lowered the rear of my 46 1/2 ton just by removing 4 leaves from the springs and cut them 3" from the center bolt on both sides ( which makes them 6 inches long) then putting them back on top of the spring using the same center bolt and u bolts, which gives u a 2 1/2 inch drop and if you want to go lower, just use the pieces that you cut off the springs cut to match and drill them out add to the top of you're spring, then you'll need longer u bolts and center bolt, just take one of your original center bolts and u bolt to the local spring shop and have them make you longer ones, i saved alot of money doing mine that way, im trying to post pics on photo bucket

not yet, still up in the air,on stands reworking the brake system at the moment, then gonna tear out the front end and put in a 3 in drop axle from nostalgia sids

Hoozat, thanks for the info. Looks like we are trying for the same thing only I'm using a 47 1/2 ton. What type of rear end are you using and is that a T-5 trannie? I'm using a Saginaw 4 speed with a 235 but have not made up my mind on a rear end. Thinking about a 4x4 blazer so I can keep the 6 bolt rims. Again thanks for the good info.

im using a 1989 s-10 5 lug rear and im converting the front brakes to disc to get the 5 lug front end and yes, im using a t-5 from a 88 s-10
