| | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 44 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 44 | My 46 was running rough when I took it out of storage....I took the edelbrock carburetor off and found a bunch of metal shavings in one of the bowls....I have a view thru filter just before the carburetor. Took it apart and it was clean...has me stumped...the carburetor has been on the car for over 6 years and ran good...
Any insights would be helpful...

It's possible that's deteriorating and putting contaminants into the carb downstream of the inline filter. Some needle valve seats also have a strainer above them that can come apart.
