Well none of the lights on the back end of the truck work. Does anyone have any wiring diagrams for the 63 chevy truck? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 | Welcome aboard. I'm not familiar a C60, I have a C20, but wiring is pretty much the same. There are three wires to to the rear lights, turn signal right, left, and tail lights. The wires run from the firewall, a connector just above where the accelerator linkage comes through, down along the drives side of the frame to another connector about the where the spare tire is. The wire split at the the rear connector for right and left. In that the dumpbed is third party, can't say what was done, from the rear connector back. I'm also assuming that you have front turn signals so you don't need to check from turn signal to firewall. Here's a link that should help; http://www.64moneypit.pages.qpg.com/6066chevytrucks/id12.htmlLarry

I checked the connections with the test light and don't have any power though. My front turn signals work but I can't seem to find any power at the 3-piece connector. Any ideas? I was thinking just tap into the front turn signals and run a new wire to the back. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | Check for power on the inside of the cab, at the plug. Check for power on the inside of the engine bay, at the plug. Check to see if the harness runs from the firewall plug to the rear of the truck. Check to see if the wiring or insulation has been compromised, throughout the length of the harness, to avoid any electrical mishaps. If the wiring is there, great...if it is not, install it to the rear lights...yellow, brown, white, light green & dark green (reverse) | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,756 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,756 | Don't forget proper grounding. Likewise if you splice from the back to the front indicators- you will get both indicators going bright when you hit the brakes... I've seen a truck wired this way. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 20 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 20 | I forgot to say that none of the wires to the lights on the back are hooked up...they have all been cut. The place that I don't have power to is the 3-prong connector. Is it possible to re-run those wires? Run 1 wire from the brake pedal, one from the headlights and one from the signals should cover it correct? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 | The power for right turn and left turn signals comes from the turn signal, and will only be there on brake and turn signal. The power for the tail lights comes from the light switch. IF you bypass the turn signal switch, no blinking, turn signal. I have seen the turn signals go bad because of too many amp draw or bad ground on the rear lights. The turn signal contact posts with too many amps on them will over heat and move out of position, no contact. That does not account for the tail lights which are on the light switch. I suggest you use a VOM or test light and trace back from the firewall connector.
