I need a little help. On my 55' second gmc dash, there is a hole directly under the speedo on the left and the blank GMC on the right. I saw a picture of these on another vehicle with a red lense in the left one and a green lense in the right one. What are they for, and why would mine not have the lenses?
The turn indicators have lights on them and as this was the first year for that option, are they related?
If I didnt describe it right, there is a pic of it in my " welcome " post from the other day.
Thanks guys.

The light under the speedo is the hi-beam indicator, the one under the blank is for the factory turn signal indicator.
At least thats how it is on my '57.

ahh, sorry I wasn't paying enough attention on your other post - GMC is the answer grin I was thinking Chevy - I believe those were the beginning of the "tell tale" lights, a Blue Chip [5-9 series GMC] truck owner will have the answer, your light truck probably didn't get the actual lights .... and as your signal setup is add-on, they're not related .... maybe add the GMC detail to your post title [click 'Edit' under your first post] here to attract the right attention

also check here, about halfway down is the 5-9 GMC shop manual and a Hydramatic manual you'll find useful

There's really no need for double posting. The answer is the same no matter how many times you post.

Thanks Cletis, I was simply following the suggestion of Bill and trying to put this in the correct forum. I am still trying to figure out this setup and your help is appreciated. I will try to avoid double posting, and find the right one to start with next time. NAd honestly, I did not see your reply before reposting here. My apologies.
