All of the ads I see for lifts where one vehicle is stored on top of another are of the 4post
design. Is there any reason why you couldn’t store one on top with a 2post lift?

Not all storage lifts have four posts.

I found others in that same Google search.

I don't see any reason why you can't park another car under a 2 post lift. The only difference is that you need to see the pads on the car to put it up. So the process is a bit more than driving in and pushing a button. When I had my shop we used to do it many times to get everything inside at night. Don

That makes sense Don, I’ve never seen any of the lift makers advertising storing the little
used car up on the two posters, it's always the four poster.
Just thought that I might be missing something. I don't think I'm so strapped for time that
I can't spend two minutes extra lining up the arms when I need the room.
Thanks
Denny G

I expect a lift sold as a "storage lift" is a little simpler/cheaper than a mechanic's lift, although they can't be but so much different...

I think the biggest difference is the storage lifts have a drip tray as part of the carriage that goes up and down.

The only reason I would get a 4 post is I live in Calif. where we have some shaking going on from time to time. Now if you do not get any shaking going on I would go for it.
