I have been lurking for a few years and finally gave in and signed up.
My wife and I inherited a 55' second Suburban carryall when my father-in-law passed and so began our journey. We went to the west coast to pick it up and on the way home we stopped in Reno, Nv. It was during Hot August Nights. We like to never got out of there. The old truck was in plain sight on the flatbed and boy did it gather some onlookers.
Searching the web, I found Steve@oldsub, who I hear has passed and he led me here.He was a kind and generous man.
I will post pics when I figure out how.
I feel as though I know several of you from lurking, but I am certain you don't know me, yet.
As for the truck, It is a 55' second Suburban carryall, with the hydramatic tranny, and with the exception of the taillights having been poorly replaced, is all original. And yes, it does have all of the original seats. It is now a three owner truck and has been in the family for over 40 years.
After much thought and deliberation, I think it would be best served to restore it to as near original as is possible. I look forward to many, many posts and conversations about this old sub as I start to work on her.
The little stuff missing in the photos is in a box, and the front bumper is there, just out of the shot.
I look forward to hearing from you. photobucket 55' and again and yet another the interior

The thought has crossed my mind Larry, but I am a glutton for punishment. The old girl needs a makeover pretty bad. Thanks all for the welcome.

The original color combination is really cool. Have any photos of the interior? I've never looked at the inside of those before. Pretty rare I'd imagine.

I dont have any yet but I can sure take some this coming week. I will post them late week. As for the rarity, I have seen alot of discussions about the scarcity of the 2nd and 3rd row seats. It seems that for utilitarian use, the seats were discarded.
