Do any of you have suggestions as to the best place to order rebuild kits for my 46 W-1 Carter?

A forum member perhaps?

Thanks
Mike

Jon (Carbking) runs a 2nd.-generation carburetor shop that has been a Carter depot for a lot of years. Their parts are factory-original, or as close a reproduction as possible. Drop him a PM and I'm sure he can give you some excellent advice. My father's shop in Nashville had the same sort of Carter factory authorization as Jon's but he sold out to his partner back in the mid-1960's.

You can get a kit at most places as mentioned. Just do yourself a favor and buy the best quality kit you can. A W-1 has many small parts in the kit such as small copper washers. The cheaper kits are not always complete.

The last time I tried to get one for a W-1 at the parts store they dont list them anymore.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

A w-1 parts kit is only available at specialty vendors. Call up the Carburetor Shop and purchase a kit.
