I got my 49 3100 cab back from the paint shop, me and the wife got the 261 in next day!! The fenders and bed should be done in a few weeks. will post more pics as it goes back together. Its far from done but its nice to see parts going on to the truck not off.

Excellent. Keep posting progress-photos.

What primer/paint did you use for the 261 engine.

it only seems to take forever, then one day you will look at it and have nothing to do but go for a nice long (hopfully) carefree ride and enjoy your labors.

I just used dupi-color detroit diesel alpine green ceramic engine enamel and high temp spray can primer. I hope it holds up after i fire it up. I have not ran it yet after the full rebuild and nos head installed.

Nice, painted my 261 alpine green also.I think Grigg chimed in that that was a factory color.Don,t cry when you nick the paint the first time putting it back together only you will notice.Have fun, putting them back together is alot more fun than taking them apart.

Great looking cab. Are you painting the truck in steps? How do you keep the color the same from one time to another? I think I will have to paint mine in steps because I do'nt have room for it all assembled in the garage. You must paint the bed off the truck to be able to paint the back of the cab. I painted 40 years ago so real newbee questions here sorry, it was a small MGA British Racing Green.
