I have read somewhere that you can make a 90 ohm fuel gauge work with the 30 ohm sender units. Anyone have any idea?

Hy boogerdave, I'm not expert on resistors, it always gave me a headache in school. I believe the gauge (90 ohm) works on a zero to 90 ohm range, so if you put a 48 ohm resistor in the circuit the best you could hope for would be a range of 48 ohms to 90 ohms, so the gauge would never function correctly. I'm sure someone with more expert knowledge will be along to confirm or poopoo my statement.

Thanks . . I changed the post because what I had been reading was actually 90 ohm sender with a 30 ohm gauge . . . bassackwards.

Universal 30 ohm sending units are available. You won't have to jump through hoops to make your gauge work right.
