Quick question, I replaced two exhaust and intake manifold on my 42 chevy 1.5 ton due to a broken exhaust manifold. they are used manfifolds, mount right up no problem. the carter w1 mounts right up without and issue, but i went to replace my carb insulator, and the manifold i just installed on the truck has a metal retaining ring that the insulator would surround. the problem is, the insulator block isnt fitting on it, its just a tad too small at the inside diameter. the bolt holes on the insulator match the manifold bolts fine, is this metal ring important? or can i rip it out? every website i have view shows the insulator block only and no ring. did i buy the wrong insulator?
