My brakes work fine otherwise. The release works fine too. The problem is the release is not catching. I think I just adjusted the parking brake...

It fits around the lock bar. See pic.

Don't exactly know why this worked to fix the pedal lock problem, but it did. Parking brake adjustment. I just went out to the truck and the spring is there and intact from what i see. I did notice that if i push the release all the way in towards the firewall the pedal bites. After I adjusted everything per the manual. It started working again.

If any oil gets on the shaft it will not catch, you might try cleaning it.
