I replaced the cap on mc and brake fluid started shooting put of a small hole in the cap. This cap is not original, it is made of plastic and the hole looks like it was made to be there. This makes no sense to me but thought i would ask someone that really knows. Would napa carry the original type brass plug?? Thanks for any advice and recommendations guys. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | yes there's a necessary breather hole in these old MC caps, and that's one of the main drawbacks of the old system [open to ambient moist air] - the plastic caps are common replacements for the originals that always corrode badly - they weren't brass from the factory, but some of the vendors have [or did have] aluminum ones that don't rot, but whatever type you settle on find a rubber O-ring to use as a gasket to avoid having it seize onto the MC
