I was wondering if a 1957 gmc 270 inline 6 will drop right into place of my original 216. there is a guy that has one for sale by me on craigslist for $200. out of a jimmy with 60k on it ready to run. I have the stock 4 on the floor but going to replace with a s10 t-5 trans and nova rear end. Im pretty sure the 49 bellhousing wont be a problem just curious about clearence up front by the radiator and if the motor mounts are the same. Any and all help will be much appreciated!!! thanks all!

The 270 is longer therefore an new front mount will have to be rigged and the radiator moved forward. But this has been done hundreds of times and I think you'll be happy with the results.
