Have any 4L60E wiring gurus here? I'm installing a complete LT1 engine and 4L60E transmission in an older vehicle, and have the wiring harness, except for where it connects to the stop light switch and the neutral safety switch.

I need to find a wiring diagram that shows how the stop light switch and neutral safety switch are wired into the ECM. What pins on the ECM are used for these two switches.

I have everything else ready to go. But the harness was cut where it went through the fire wall and I am down to these two switches.

This engine and transmission are from a 1994 Buick Roadmaster.

It is going in an old stovebolt truck.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

I looked throuh an older Haynes manual I have, it wasn't much help. But, it shows a pink line going to the fuse block and a light green going to the revesrse lights. Like I said, not much help.

If you go to Inliners.org , try seeing if a guy that goes by the name Limequat can help you out. He runs the www.lime-swap.com website. He does ECM reprogramming for guys swapping in the Atlas 4.2, I'm sure he could help you out. He helped me out with some problems and I didn't have to buy anything from him.

Thanks, I have a Haynes manual and you're right. It ain't much help. But I figured out the neutral safety switch. But the wiring colors on the stop light switch don't match what is shown in the manual. Go figure.

I'll browse around some and see. Thanks.

What I'm needing what wire from the stop light switch tells the computer to disengage the torque converter lockup.

Roy, I'm not sure about connector numbers or wire color codes, but the brake light switch provides power to the converter lockup circuit through a set of normally-closed contacts that interrupt the power supply to the converter solenoid when the brake pedal is pushed. I believe it's the same circuit that powers the cruise control. The 12V power should come from a fuse to the brake switch, and from there, go to whatever circuitry controls the lockup solenoid. On later models, thatr's one of the ECM circuits. If I still had access to my Mitchell or AllData programs from school, I'd be glad to print you a copy of the diagrams, but that ended when I retired! Good luck!

I decided to google the ecm number for a pinout and ... got one. We'll see how it works out now.

I am building a 1953 3100 with a 1994 LT1, 4L60E and rearend from a police cruiser. What headers are you using? What problems have you run into with the wiring harness?

I used the stock manifolds on the truck I'm installing it in. Along with the lead off pipes.

Mines will be a cruiser, and will be quiet. Mufflers instead of glass packs.

I used the harness from the car for the pcm/ecm. Since I kept my original steering column, I'm mounting a switch to tell the ecm when the transmission is in gear.

I also had to provide a switch for the brake pedal to release the torque converter clutch when I apply the brakes.

We'll see if I have it right soon. I haven't driven it yet to see if it shifts correctly and if the converter clutch will release when it should.

But I sure like the way it sounds.

The only reason I'm doing this to mine is because my wife wants to drive it some, and shifting gears, pushing the floor starter on a hill, and other issues were a challenge to her. Plus... I'm hoping for better fuel mileage since I do use this truck for some trips.
