The bench seat in my '56 seems to have lost it support after all these years. I have yet to pull the seat out, that's my next project after the door glass, but was wondering what my have given way under the vinyl covering.
Thanks,
Jay

might have broken springs, or it could be that the stuffing has disintegrated or been carted off for mouse nests - you'll get an idea when it's out and you can turn it over and take the bottom cover loose

More than likely the PO's big ol booty has caused the springs to loosed their spring. The guys at Sunshine Foam are good folks they have everything you need to get the spring back under your posterior, and feeling good.... springs and burlap .... they deliver to indy once a week. Also if you used foam make sure you get the right density!!!

David,

I think the seat has just "let go" after all these years. I know the PO, he's my dad, and has never had a big ol booty. He's a skinny old fart of 81 years. He bought the truck in '69 and was just about to sell it. I gave him heck and sent a semi truck across country to bring it to Indy.

I'll farm the seat job out, but wanted some sort of idea of what would be needed to fix it. I was thinking of talking to Don's auto trim on Rockville Rd on the west side. Have you heard of them or recommend someone else?

Thanks David. When I get the windows done, I'll pull the seat and give him a call. If it ever warms up enough to get out to the barn. I thought it was spring???

This reminds me of a long time ago. For a saggy seat, I would stuff an old tire tube under it, then inflate to the right comfort level. It worked well until a spring or something popped a hole in the tube!
