I would like to know for sure what size my engine is in my truck. It is a straight six and I can't find the number from engine block in any references. See this picture of my block numbers.
Can anyone tell me the size from this number? Can you direct me to an internet page where this number exists?

It's a 216 from a 1949 3100, built at Flint.

After searching all over I find you asked this question back in 2009 and they asked you then to post the raised casting numbers off the side of the block... I think you still need to do that to get your question answered. If Google can't find that number anywhere on the web I doubt we can either. Sorry.

When I looked at the pic of the number that BruceO posted, I could see the "CBA" code he posted originally is actually "GBA". The "G" is abit faint, and can look like a "C". GBA is listed in the Chevrolet Truck ID Numbers guide.

And here I was thinking the "B" was maybe a "P" and was looking for those variances... Nice catch!

BruceO,

Bill's observation of GBA looks right. That makes Bill's information correct regarding your block being a 1949 216 for a 3100 truck.

Post these codes, if you need further confirmation.
