On a 66, 1/2 ton front shock, I see in the parts catalog an "L" bracket that can be added, that bolts to the frame with 2 bolts, and has a single hole for the shock to mount to. It notes that it is for relocting the mount point, but it appears not to be stout enough to support it by itself. Am I correct in thinking that this bracket is actually used on the 4 wheel trucks to add support to the outer end of the shock ? I had one of my shock frame holes washed out, and although I fixed it, I was looking for a little extra support out on the end to help keep it from moving around.
