I'm in need of the connector that attaches the DASH hand throttle cable to the carb linkage.
Don't know the actual name.
Anyone know where can I get one?

I have 46 but I think it is the same. It's a cylinder drilled through and threaded for a set screw. The diameter is drilled though for the cable. My package says "Cable Stop" I got them at the local auto parts store. They also had the linkage to carb clips that hold the linkage to the carn.

Hy Lampo, you are looking for a "cable stop", they are available in the "help" section of most F.L.A.P.S.. Does your carb already have the double function cable holding bracket, one side for the choke cable and the other for the throttle cable? If not you'll need one of those as well, post an ad in the parts wanted forum if you need one of those. The throttle cable end goes through the hole in the throttle rod that attaches the the carb (where a cotter pin would go) then you put the "cable stop" on the end of the cable, leaving a bit of clearance between the carb arm and the "cable stop", hope that helps.

That linkage clip Bill, we went thru this a month or so ago but I couldn't find a source for
them. I think it was Gus that first posted a picture of a clip on his throttle linkage. At the
time I thought it was a good idea to add that and still do. I’ve never felt quite sure about
the wire only to secure the link although I’ve never heard of anyone having a malfunction.
When I saw the clip I went on a search to all of the FLAPS in the area. I got several
HELP packs and a handful of loose ones but none of the clips had a wide enough opening
for that flaired out opening in the throttle lever.

I'm pretty sure originally all that Chevrolet used was the throttle wire thru the link with
the brass stop on the end of the wire. In other words, originally they didn't have a "clip"
like those used on the later throttle linkages or the one shown in your link. If that's not
true I'd really like to have some documentation for my records. Also I’d really like to
know if anyone has found those ¼” clips with the wide opening and who has them.

I haven't had to look for those linkage clips Denny, I've always saved all those little bits that usually get lost over the years, and for the brass stops, some carbs have them 'built in' to connect the choke cable end and I save them off scrap carbs .... can't say what was original on the AD's, and the TF series hand throttle hooks up differently

If I pull it out, it just goes back to idle from the spring on the throttle linkage.

I assume you have a throttle wire, not a cable? Maybe it is too lubricated in the housing? Maybe your return spring is too firm?

I bought some clips at O'relies auto parts. Used to be shucks and Kragens. They had a package and it had one that fit the throtle.

I have a wire like yours, only it's new and works, probably, to well.

Also the spring does seem a bit strong. It is pretty substancual!

What is the deal with a Throttle cable - it's purpose? I have the knob in the cab with the cable going to the carb with all the linkage there - but its not really hooked up. You guys are probably chuckling and maybe I it's obvious, but I don't understand it - can't you just step on the accelerator - why an additional cable?

Do a site search, that's been discussed a number of times. There are a number of opinions on the subject.

I was stumbling around the '29-'54 MPC and found these pics and descriptions. Group 3.425, Part #3700188, "CLIP, carb. to accel. lever rod attach." for '53-'54 passenger car. Also part #3703528, "CLIP, carb. to accel.lever rod attach, accel. front rod swivel" '54 COMM. w/A.T. (automatic transmission). Didn't check later dated MPCs
