I have a Chevy V-8 motor with two numbers on the block below the pass. side valve cover. I am trying to ID the motor. V0703 1S, I believe stands for Flint, Mi. July 3 and the 1S looks like a 1969 350 c.in. motor. The other number is 7N246943. I believe this is a Vin number of the vehical it was originally in. Can anyone tell me anything about this number? Thanks-Panhead AND as a note regarding the "1S" it came with a powerglide tranny and Taxi. Is that Taxi as in taxi cab? If so, what makes a taxi different enough to list it seperately? Why not just say Impala or whatever?

I just looked in my books but they don't show the "1S" code.I have truck books and sometimes they use the same engine for both.Someone with a better library than I I'm sure will help.
