I just bought a 48 p/u with a replaced motor.can anyone ident it for me thanks doug. casting # behind starter is 3788387 stamped # beside dizzy is 283185

Are there no letters with the numbers from the "dizzy"?

54john3100 thanks for the comeback. no there are no letter,s.I believe it,s a 235, but on another forum I came across a listing that had the twolast casting # revesed and that was a 292

Hy z48, I couldn't find that exact casting number at Inliners International, but I did find 3738307 which is a 58-62 235, also 378307 which is a 60-62 235, please verify the casting number again, they can be a little tricky to read sometimes.

thanks 3B it is difficult to see. the 5th # from the left is in doubt. will recheck,but it,s snowing and cold in abbotsford this morning. Doug

54john I picked it up in Aldergrove.according to the serial # it came out of the factory as a cab and chassis 3/4 ton Doug

3B thanks for the info. I removed the starter and cleaned the area and low and behold--the # is 3738307. the stamped # is 283185 and the cylinder head # is 3836848. would this translate to a 58-62 235 with a older head ? thank,s Doug
