According to my Union 76 Service Book the specs. for spark plugs are...

Gap: .035"
Torque: 20-25 ft.lb.

These are the specs. I use for my 235.

Bringing up an old post ...

Are the torque values the same (20-25 ft-lb) for spark plugs that have been removed and are now going back into the block with the old gaskets? Can't remove the old gaskets from the plugs, or don't know how.

Autolight 303 plugs. '54 235, 1959 3836848 head December 22, 1959.

Thanks,

I've never used a torque wrench for spark plugs. Tight enough they don't leak is tight enough. Just snug.

I've never torqued spark plugs either. Got a couple of new torque wrenches. Guess I was trying to find something to torque!

Thanks,
