and 3200 longbox or 3100, 1/2 ton and 3200, 3/4 ton? There is not a VIN tag on cab. Title was prevously bonded with number on frame wich is 255K013245 Title also list it as a 3200 wich match the fender emblems. Anybody have any info to clear this up for me?

It looks like you are referring to a 1955-2nd series Chevrolet truck. 255 indicates 2nd series of 1955 trucks - a Task Force Truck.
A long-bed 1/2 ton Chevrolet truck became available in the 1955-2nd series. It was designated as a 3200 series (1/2 ton long-bed). 3100 was the designation for the 1955-2nd series 1/2 ton short-bed.
Is there a letter in front of the vehicle ID that you gave?

I think that a 3200 would have had an M preface.
M 255 K 013245
M = 3200
255 = second series 1955 (Task Force truck)
K = Kansas City assembly plant
| | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the stamped frame numbers never included the first letter, which is what designates the weight class and frame length .... the 3200 is a long bed 1/2T, which as Tim mentions would have an M as the first character on the missing vin tag, a 3100 short bed would have started with H, a '55 long 3/4T would have a G ..... in '56 they changed it all again

(a normal state of mind for me) Will have to find correct emblems

What I've discovered is cab is 58-59 from door post data plate, hood was 56 from front emblem (I changed to 55 emblem), fenders where (ARE) 3200 long box, and tailgate was GMC
(I removed,sold,replaced with Chevy) WOW what a history (headach)
I could get this vehicle closer to RIGHT if i really knew what it was to begin with!
